‘Allegations Unfounded, Condemnable, Totally False’ – ECOWAS Stands by Nigeria
Nigeria has strongly dismissed allegations made by the military leader of the Niger Republic, Gen. Abdourahamane Tchiani, accusing the country of colluding with France and harbouring the Lakurawa terrorist group. In a scathing response, the Federal Government described the claims as baseless and completely false.
Gen. Tchiani, in his Christmas Day address, had accused Nigeria of attempting to destabilize Niger by harboring the terrorist group. However, the Nigerian government vehemently rejected these allegations, calling them “unfounded” and “condemnable.”
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has also reaffirmed its support for Nigeria, emphasizing that such accusations are without merit and should be disregarded.
