The Federal Government of Nigeria (FG) has allocated ₦29.54 billion in the 2025 budget to improve the welfare and conditions of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members. This substantial funding will cover critical expenses such as the kits provided to corps members, transportation costs, and feeding allowances during their service year.
Additionally, the budget includes provisions for recreational and sporting activities to foster teamwork and fitness among members. Infrastructure improvements, such as the construction of boreholes and provision of essential dormitory furniture like double bunk beds, are also prioritized to improve the living conditions in NYSC camps.
To address healthcare and safety concerns, funds have been earmarked for purchasing ambulances and life jackets, which are crucial for emergencies and regions with water-related activities. Furthermore, the government is investing in training materials for the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program, a key component of NYSC aimed at equipping corps members with valuable skills for self-employment and economic contribution.

An allocation of N45 million has been made for the procurement and installation of three sets of borehole materials in NYSC orientation camps in the proposed budget. This initiative aims to improve water supply infrastructure, thereby enhancing the living conditions in the camps.
Additionally, N120 million has been earmarked for the acquisition of 1,000 double bunk beds to improve accommodation facilities for corps members. This initiative aims to address overcrowding issues and ensure a more comfortable stay in the camps.
