
In the spirit of Christmas and the New Year festivities, Rt Hon. Anietie Etuk PhD, the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and former Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, hosted his immediate constituents from Asang Ward 5, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area. The gathering took place at his residence in Shelter Afrik, Uyo, where he expressed gratitude, unity, and a call for continued support for Governor Umo Eno’s Arise Agenda.




The yearly celebration, which traditionally takes place between December and the New Year, serves as an opportunity for the political leadership in the community to meet and celebrate with their constituents. This year’s event was more special, as it brought together critical stakeholders, party officers, and selected party stalwarts from the area to reflect on past achievements and chart the way forward for the community.

During his address, Rt Hon. Anietie Etuk, who is also the political leader of Asang Ward 5, applauded the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the ward for their unity and commitment to collective progress. “I am proud of the way our ward has continued to maintain unity, despite political differences and challenges. This is a testament to our collective effort and commitment to ensuring that Asang Ward 5 remains a beacon of peace and progress in Nsit Ibom,” said Etuk.

Etuk also expressed his continued support for his constituents and promised to work together with other stakeholders for the betterment of the ward. “We need each other to function and succeed. My door is always open for consultations and collaboration, especially as we take decisions that affect the well-being of our people.”
Recognition and Support for Gov. Umo Eno’s Arise Agenda
As part of his address, Etuk highlighted the importance of supporting Governor Umo Eno’s Arise Agenda—an initiative aimed at fostering economic development and sustainable growth in Akwa Ibom State. In a gesture of goodwill, Etuk made a generous donation of one million Naira towards the advancement of the Arise Agenda, reinforcing his commitment to the collective vision for the state’s progress.

In addition, the Honorable Councillor for the ward took the opportunity to express her gratitude for being recommended to serve in the women’s slot, which highlighted the growing influence of women in political leadership.
To further support the political leader’s efforts, the Councillor made a personal donation of two hundred thousand Naira as a gesture of goodwill and appreciation.
