Celebrated for Bundesliga Milestone

Nigerian international Victor Boniface has spoken out for the first time regarding reports linking him with a move to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr. The Bayer Leverkusen striker was recently honored by his club after scoring in his 50th Bundesliga appearance for the German champions.

Al-Nassr’s Interest and Failed Transfer Move

The 24-year-old forward was rumored to be on the verge of a €70 million transfer to Al-Nassr before the Saudi Pro League transfer deadline on Friday. However, reports indicate that the Saudi club ultimately pulled out of the deal and opted to sign Colombian striker Jhon Duran from Aston Villa instead.

Boniface Reacts to Transfer Rumors

Addressing the speculation, Boniface expressed his commitment to Leverkusen while acknowledging the nature of transfer rumors in football. Speaking to Tribal Football, he stated:

“There has been a lot of speculation here and there. But I like playing here and want to do my best for the team. Whatever happens in the future will happen, but at the moment, I’m only thinking about helping Leverkusen achieve our goals.”

He further added:

“Transfer rumors are normal in football. It’s always flattering when big clubs show interest, but my focus at the moment is 100 percent on Bayer Leverkusen. Every game is an opportunity. I want to contribute goals, assists, and energy to the team. I just want to stay fit, keep playing, and keep improving. If I manage that, I think everything else will fall into place.”

Goal-Scoring Return from Injury

Boniface made a strong return from injury, marking the occasion with a goal in Leverkusen’s 3-1 victory over TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
